His September numbers are really good. .400/.483/.560

SSS but the most impressive Sept. stat for him is having only 4 strikeouts in 29 PA.
 
Feedback I've seen is that he's staying more upright at the plate- not diving out over the plate and getting off balance like he was in the majors.

But...if you do a quick twitter search for 'Pache upright' you'll see people saying in 2018, 2019, and 2020 that it looks like he's finally staying more upright at the plate. Who knows if it is something he'll maintain.
 
Good to see Pache picking it up recently, but it's hard to trust him as the everyday center fielder on Opening Day next year.

Not for me. I was still all in on him learning this year in the majors but hard to do with the early season implosion and injuries and celebrity boxing. There was no way to hide him. Additionally, he missed and entire year of development. I'm firmly a believer in Pache. His stance is upright and he's aggressive and confident. THAT player can be a difference maker.
 
Elder on the beam tonight. Great start. 1 H, O R, 7 IP to this point. Have to think his night is over after throwing 99 pitches.

This guy has to be in the back of AA's mind when filling out the 8-10 man starting rotation for 2022.

Right. They gambled that he could jump that last rung on the ladder, and lost. A little bit more time seems to have helped a lot, glad he's got his stroke and confidence back. Now bring him north as a fourth outfielder and let him work his way in.
 
Michael Harris had all the buzz off season and in camp... but I'm thinking the player who's really stepped up and taken his prospect potential to the next level is Grissom. He should move up significantly across the rankings. He's been incredible this year. Also... Collins just keeps hitting.
 
After last night's MLB game, I'd like to see Pache up. We need a legit CF on the roster, if just in the late innings.

This is a better plan for me. That additional learning year was needed last year, but it wasn't going to happen at the mlb level. But at minimum he should be up at this point.
 
Does anyone have a good breakdown of Elder's stuff/repertoire? Starting to get really excited about him based on numbers, but don't know much about the actual arsenal. I love that he seems to throw 6-7 innings in every start.

I think Grissom is the one whose numbers this year jump out the most as a hitter. He's really been good for at least the whole second half. They let him get a long look at Low A, but seems like advancing a level hasn't done much to slow him down.

Seems like his frame would have a lot of room to add power also and when you consider he's already handling the bat pretty well and can probably play about anywhere, that's really a nice thing.

I don't have his exact repertoire handy but what I remember from draft day was that he was already very developed in mature/probably wouldn't need much time in the minors. I think he has quite a few pitches... like 3-5 but none are currently plus. I think his control has a chance to be plus. I think most of the optimistic projections have him as a 4 or 5.

EDIT: sounds like his best two pitches are his sinker and slider.

MLB Pipeline (for whatever they are worth) has his scouting grades as such:
Fastball (sinker) that can touch 95 but sits in the low 90s: 50
Slider: 60
Curve: 55
Changeup: 50
Control: 50

Fangraphs:
Fastball: 50/50
Slider: 50/50
Curveball: 45/45
Changeup: 45/50
Command: 35/55

Obviously Fangraphs isn't as gung ho which surprises no one with how crazy MLB pipeline gets.

So he's a 4 pitch guy.
