Colbert was funny. Like anyone in comedy, you basically stick doing the same thing forever. ANd that style of comedy goes away most comedians cannot stick with it. A few can remain funny and relevant for a long time (Carlin and Pryor for example) but either you change so much (Chappelle) that you become unrecognizable or you keep doing the same thing and become tiresome (Bert KReishner)

He’s been living off the same mediocre shtick for years now. It’s actually impressive, in a way.

People find comfort in familiarity. Jay Leno made a career of doing the same **** for 30+ years and people loved him for it. I call it the VEgas effect. You wind up being background noise more than actual art for people to consume.

There's been far superior content that's existed in the talk show format that would be more fun like Eric Andre, Between 2 Ferns, etc. But they have a shelf life of about 3 seasons before they get tiresome.

Only elite Talk Show host of the last 30 years were Letterman and Conan. Leno was OK, everyone else was mediocre to trash. Even "legends" like Stewart really just farmed the same content over and over again and didn't really bring much new and exciting to the table after their first few seasons.
 
I get a good chuckle out of trans people thinking the anti Hamas crowd is transphobic

they should see what Gaza does to gay or trans people and the people they are backing lol
