I don’t think things should be free, but do we all agree it’s a moral failing for a country to let a single one of its citizens starve to death? Because if we all agree on that basic point, I’m all for a conversation around the extent to which we don’t let anybody starve to death.

If we didn’t have to waste taxpayer dollars on 20+m illegals it wouldn’t be a problem.

Could you imagine being so mentally unstable to let a MAGA hat like this bother you?

Meh, I’d put up with a lot of other services being cut or taxes being raised if it helped us feed the hungry, both domestically and abroad.

But not the illegals sucking out so much of the budget apparently

I don’t agree with you on this subject generally, but I will specifically say I’m 100% fine with my tax dollars going to support feeding undocumented immigrants that are hungry.

We should 100% feed the whole world while the country implodes!

while the country implodes!

I'm kind of wondering about the connection of this narrative with reality. We have strong job growth (massive employment increases especially for highly skilled highly educated people). We have these amazing world beating American companies (NVIDIA, Microsoft, Google) propelling the stock market to new highs. What are the indicia of a country that is imploding? I'm not seeing it.

How would you accomplish this without making it free?

Things are great for a small portion of the population for sure.

Not really. There are a small number of whiners who don't want to compete with highly skilled and highly educated people. They'd rather sit around whining about a world leaving them behind.

If people chose to not pursue higher education that's their choice. I believe in freedom. And consequences for the choices we all make.

Do consequences include paying off the debt of those who do choose higher education?

eh...those are paid mostly by high income taxpayers...you know the ones who got a higher education...for the most part it is highly educated people subsidizing other people's educations...doesn't make all forms of loan forgiveness good policy...but this populist notion that folks with HS educations are subsidizing dead beat college students is nonsense

the folks with lower educations collectively receive enormous transfers from the rest of us every year...no need to send flowers or a thank you note

A lot of words to not answer

The educated class bought a product so useless they need the janitor to help them out

Sad!
