but every scenario of what can be done on this planet really freaks you out. it's really too bad that when you're even on vacation you are a scared person of any scenario that could be done but doesn't happen

In fairness, I heard what sturg heard: let's use human engineering to prevent people from liking meat. He also talked about how we could use genetic engineering to make people six inches shorter in order to reduce their carbon footprint. Seems like a fringe loony if you ask me.

doesn't mean he was saying to actually do it or to pursue that angle
 
i'll watch that clip but the clip fraud shared seems he is talking about it being possible and not that we should really implement it etc

i will say, i think he believes in it after watching that. i think he's trying to advocate for it as well

the people laughing throughout the whole ted talk

show how realistic it is and how serious he's being taken

it's interesting and i really hope i don't ever have to listen to him talk again lol

In the same spirit, it seems to me the obvious solution is to tax big people more since they generate more negative externalities. It would reduce many problems such as crowding in subways or airplanes. Force em to get smaller.
