I don't think it's pointless outrage to complain about a supposed news source altering quotes to make them fit the transfascist policy they've decided on. This wasn't censored to where the words were unreadable, they changed the rape victim's description of her attacker.

This is exactly the slippery slope stuff a lot of people like to laugh off when we point out the danger of knowingly using false terms so we can all play along with the delusional fantasies of people who need mental health intervention.

The person who held this woman down and raped her with a penis was not a she or a they or a them or whatever ever other bull**** term would make their sorry rapist ass feel empowered, it was a he. That's the victim's truth or lived experience.

Minor editorial changes like this happen all the time, particularly with pronouns and verb tenses. There’s typically not much said about it.

Our understanding about a lot of things have changed over time. Language itself is already a pretty fluid thing. Words change meaning over time as we either collectively change definitions or learn new information, so saying the two terms were synonymous isn’t a very compelling argument. If you disagree, I’d encourage you to read a news article from the start of the last century and tell me if the language being used stands out as odd.

unlike some around here kink and public nudity don't bother me...i've taken in both at the How Berkeley Can You Be parade as well as at a couple beaches here and there

but it also doesn't bother me if a community through its elective representatives decide it is not for them...even though requiring people to wear clothing is in principle an imposition upon a person's freedom and autonomy...i don't view such freedom and autonomy as absolute...a community has a right to regulate its public spaces within the bounds of the constitution

Ehh. I've seen plenty of the experts in psychiatry and gender studies explaining the new understanding lately, and they seem as out of touch with reality as the divergence they're trying to defend. And the definition of words change due to their misuse, not because we become more enlightened about what a word means.

You're talking to a guy who said he would chemically castrate his own children if they asked

I remember Goldy mocking me for comparing them to strip clubs.

This is gross and I ask again what benefit the kids are getting out of this

Which one of the seals are gonna go to bat for pedophiles?

Nothing stopping them from commenting on how disgusting all this is, but they won't. So who is gonna step up and defend it?
