I sometimes wonder if you’re being willfully ignorant or are just a ****ing idiot. Passing a law that makes the laws regarding anal or oral sex subject to the same legal process as vaginal sex is not about making it easier to do so. It’s eliminating a disparity that unfairly targets gay people.

They simply matched the established guidance of vaginal intercourse with other types of intercourse. Democrats don’t want gay people to have sex with minors any more than they want straight people to have sex with minors. It’s just unjust for the punishment to be harsher for gay people.

Again, I can’t decide if you know that’s what the bill did and are just being an ignorant asshole or if you’re too much of an idiot to understand it.

Amazingly I'm intelligent enough to be able to decipher that multiple crimes are bad and some are objectively worse.

Considering the bill is targeting “consensual” statutory rape, I don’t see how the comparison works. It’s still good for it to be illegal, but the only difference in the behaviors here are the sexual preferences.

I'll say it. It's much worse for a full ass adult aka a 24 or 26 year old to have sex with someone who's 10 years younger than them than for an 18 year old to have anal sex with a 17 year old

Because that’s the ****ing point! Under CA law before that bill, those two scenarios would be considered as equal (or the former worse) because the sex wasn’t vaginal intercourse. It could be the same judge, jury, etc. and the 18-year-old having sex with the 17-year-old would still be put on the registry, whereas the grad student could conceivably avoid it.

I think the law could be better than it is. But it's unequivocally better than it was before. The right wing twittersphere is just trying to smear Newsom something they've been trying to do his whole career.
