These tend to be the topics where you take a stance that I don’t merely disagree with, but actively find to be either obtuse or bigoted. Even if you disagree with the direction taken to lessen punishments for anal and oral sex rather than increase punishments for vaginal sex, I cannot fathom how you think it’s okay to have different guidances for them AND have those guidances be stricter for the kinds of sex that gay people have. When you add the restrictions the bill has regarding its application, it’s just an insane take.

I think it’s important to speak out, because it’s very easy to just look at these topics as criminals are bad and don’t deserve *any* leniency, but that ignores the fact that they still deserve due process. If a law or a set of laws is unjust, then it should be reviewed. Even if we don’t like the people who would stand to “benefit” from the changes, it doesn’t mean we should keep the status quo. It’s why I don’t think the 1/6 rioters should be charged with **** like treason. I would have thought someone who has claimed to be largely libertarian would agree that the government shouldn’t be overreaching on criminal justice in this way.
