1960: Five days after losing to the Pirates in Game 7 of the World Series, the Yankees fire manager Casey Stengel.
1967: A.L. owner grant Charley Finley permission to move the A's to Oakland. To avoid legal battles, the A.L. gives Kansas City a new team as well as Seattle.
1977: Reggie Jackson hits three home runs in Game 6, helping the Yankees win the World Series over the Dodgers.
2001: Larry Dierker resigns as Astros manager.
2004: In the longest game in ALCS history, the Red Sox outlast the Yankees 5-4 in 14 innings. The fifth game of the series took five hours and 49 minutes to play and ended at 1:22 AM.
2010: The Mariners name Eric Wedge as their new manager.
2012: The Tigers defeat the Yankees 8-1 to complete an ALCS sweep.
