Today in Rand Paul

Rand Paul calls on truckers to blockade the Super Bowl and DC:
“I’m all for it. Civil disobedience .. is a time-honored tradition in our country
from slavery to civil rights to you name it.
Peaceful protest, clog things up, make people think about the mandates.”

The Rude Pundit@rudepundit·10h

Civil disobedience from slaves were slave revolts and people like Rand Paul

would have made sure the slaves who took part were tortured and executed.

People like Rand Paul eh?

Again, it will be amazing when pieces of trash like you are shamed into never giving your thoughts on things again. We are getting closer to that wonderful reality

Nothing but poison comes from your pathetic mouth.

Why is the left so adamantly against this working class, peaceful protest?

If this isn't a focal point of all GOP candidates in the 22 midterms they have awful advisors.

The left is outwardly pro-criminal and anti-labor at this point in time.

Wow the entire democratic party and mainstream media cannot clear the very low authenticity bar of a right wing blogger

Much like I alluded to in my other post about media, I think we’re way past the point where we should treat the likes of Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro or Steven Crowder as anything less than mainstream media. I’m sure I can find plenty of examples from Fox or Republican lawmakers if I cared enough. It’s just another in an endless string of political hypocrisy. And mind you, Democrats aren’t remotely innocent here. The truckers are within their rights to do this, and I find it misguided to try to stop them.

I agree that was a silly statement from a guy who says a lot I like. The way he has put a few people back on their heels with his "what is a woman?" question is beautiful, and I loved his children's book that topped the LGBT charts. But as sturg said, a blogger being caught in hypocrisy is a bit less of an issue than essentially an entire party in this country (and their friends in Canada!) calling the truckers right wing extremists, domestic terrorists, racists, the rest of the playbook. Whitmer posted that she was meeting her staff in the War Room or something to discuss it.

I'm looking at the comparison of property damage, arson, assaults, or body count and can't see a justification for the flip flop other than what I stated.

Is it not also hypocritical for Republican politicians like DeSantis to so widely support this protest that damages the American economy because the truckers side with them? If these truckers were doing the same thing to object to police brutality, wouldn’t we almost certainly be having the opposite debate right now?

Edit: in full transparency, I will admit that I enjoyed this particular hypocrisy a bit more because of the extent to which I do not like Matt Walsh. I find his particular brand of commentary to be abhorrently mean spirited in a way I don’t see with some of his comparable figures like Shapiro. I was particularly put off by the recent (alleged) stunt he pulled to try to trick Trans activists into participating in what would certainly be a hit piece.

Police brutality (overstated issue based on data) is not the same as the western governments becoming authoritarian and restricting human rights.

The fact that the left compares these things just shows how immature mentally they are....

That’s really besides the point, though. There are simply a lot of clowns on both sides who support rights based solely on whether they’re aligned with their team or not. How brave.

I never took issue with the BLM protests, other than how absurd the premise of their grievance was.

My issues was the looting, arson, and murders that took place.

Same. That and the ridiculous hypocrisy of public officials doing gymnastics as it came to COVID policies and protests.

But you wouldn’t have cheered on the government doing what Trudeau is doing.

Yup - This was clearly the 'beef' from the right.

Also that the left turned a very bad man into a saint.
