tOfficial All Star game selection

Thought Freeman should have been there. No way in hell he beats Puig out. Other than that, I'm OK with it. Kimbrel deserves it. Minor and Teheran have been very good for us, but there's a crap ton of good pitching in the league right now.

I agree that it's not a travesty or anything that Kimbrel is our only All-Star, but it still feels like we got majorly disrespected by only getting one player on the team.

1st place team has 1 player going to the All-Star game. Last place team has 3 players going to the All-Star game. Team with the 2nd worst record in the league has 2 players going to the All-Star game. Yeah. Seems legit.

It doesn't matter where the teams are in the standings. It's about the players. The only players on the Braves that are truly deserving are Kimbrel, Freeman, and maybe Gattis/McCann. Although, I do have to wonder how Justin Upton went from 3rd in votes in the outfield to nowhere on the roster in just a couple days.

That is correct but for many years the teams with the best records get the most players. Been that way for as long as I can remember. If those teams had such great players they would probably be in a better place in the standings and vise versa. It's why it's very rare to the an MVP or Cy Young winner on a bad team.

The teams with better records usually get the most players because they have the best players. The Braves are the exception to the rule this year.

Your better off in the regular season to have a lot of good players than a few great ones. The Braves have a very well balanced team. That leads to a lot of wins but not a lot of all star selections.

minor could've had a shot, but his last 4 starts cost him

he was 8-2 with a 2.44 ERA

then allowed 4,4,3,4...went 0-2 with 2 ND

I'm glad Met fans actually showed some signs of life and were able to hold off the Giant fans voting for Panda. Wright not starting the ASG in Citi would have been an embarrassment.

Wright deserved it and I hope Harvey gets the start.

A few players on the NL rosters is not deserving especially Harper. This is the reason why I don't watch the All Star game and it's festivities because it doesn't MEAN anything to me, the opposite of what Selig preaches. When you want home field you put the best players out there, not what the fans want.

I'll still watch the game for tradition, but what's particularly irritating is that on the far off chance we actually make the World Series, our players potentially would have had no impact on who has home field advantage unless Kimbrel gets a save.
