I said when the released rumors started I'd take a flyer on him for the pen. He'd be able to add a few ticks back to his fastball and would only have to throw 2 pitches. So his bleh pitches wouldn't have to be used and his curve would rock.

Yes. They've done this before with Avery, Moss and probably a handful of others. No risk in signing him to a minor league deal, sending him to Gwinnett and giving him another chance to hopefully work things out.
