Great start to his career that was derailed by some horrid decisions surrounding his usage. Old-timers talk about how today's pitchers aren't worked as hard as they were and they're right. But if you know Cloninger's story, you can understand why managers tend to be more judicious with starting pitchers in this era. The guy was an absolute horse.
