He can actually have four. Doesn't have to be under 130. 130 on the nose works. Walked once today. Had he taken the pitched he whiffed on, he'd actually have a little cushion tomorrow. If he gets a fifth plate appearance after four at bats (meaning no walks, HBP, SF or SAC), I hope they pinch hit for him.
"Prospect status" is just a term. Swanson is a big leaguer now, period. He is off the list the same way that Jenkins and Blair and Gant and Cabrera have left the list. Sure, they could give him the day off Sunday against Verlander and prop him up to be the favorite to win the rookie award last year.
The rookie of the year award has been worthless since Nomo was given it over Chipper. Bet if he's given a choice, he plays.
