Anyone see the new True Detective last night? Really strange and disjointed.

I think people have to lower their expectations because S1 was one of the best standalone seasons of TV ever.

It had a nice vibe, but I felt there were too many coincidental connections. Best part of the show by far has been Trash Stache Farrell.

I haven't seen it yet, but some of the creative types I follow on Twitter were absolutely raving about it.

It was slow to start and people just wanted to meet all the characters quicker, because no one has patience.

I really enjoyed the episode, thought it was a solid start.

Season 1 of True Detective was awesome until it wasn't. I hated the last episode. I really wish they went somewhere with the Yellow King stuff. The mysticism was the highlight of the first season.

The pacing—both narrative and visual—and the mood of the editing were very rapid, relative to the season-one, which didn't seem to let scenes really or fully develop. I'm not too surprised, however—I knew the photography would be likely the most jarring difference, going from Cary Fukunaga to Justin Lin.

You're just bitter and wanted someone to make flowers on you.

Just finished House of Cards and I don't want to spoil anything, but I wasn't a huge fan of the end of season 3. Just seemed forced to me.

I think you'll love the 1st episode of season 2. My jaw literally dropped at the end of the episode.
