Trade pieces

Hard to believe.

Not really, have you seen how desperate teams are for pitching? Texas had Lohse pitching over the weekend and his fastball was topping out at only 87 mph. Plus he had an over 5 ERA in AAA and cost them over a million to add him. Lohse then gave up a touchdown in 5 innings. So I could see someone like Texas asking about Lucas Harrell and a lot of cheap options because they have Darvish due back this weekend and Lewis and Holland in August. So makes sense for them to find a cheap number five and not spend a lot in doing so. Harrell could be just that in my view.

I expect Texas to trade for a starter soon, but he'll be someone cheap and possibly someone like Norris who they can move to the bullpen later. It seems their main concern is fixing their bullpen and they'll likely give up more in trades to do that.

What % do you put on each of these players finishing the year in a braves' uniform?

Beckham 40%

Frenchy 10% (someone that needs help against lefties will take him)

Aybar 10% (probably eat his contract to make him go away)

Jim Johnson 80% (if traded it will be as a throw-in like last year as alone he has little to no value)

Teheran 50%

Viz 10% (I think the Braves are bent on trading him and will do so before the deadline)

My main concern is that we'll probably be selling low on Viz now thanks to Snit misuse. He could've been a great trade chip but now even if he comes back strong after the All-Star break I don't see his value reaching anywhere near what it was before or could've been with better handling in the first place.

Beckham 60% - Barely worth trading. Might be better to keep and sign in FA again. Dont want to sour that relationship for a 29 year old catcher in the GCL who the Braves scouts think is the next something.

Frenchy 75% - Whatever the price we set its too high. Do him a favor and trade him to Colorado.

Aybar 1% - 1% because he might get injured before we can dump him.

Jim Johnson 50% - only an idiot would trade for this guy. So probably Dombrowski or the Yankees.

Teheran 1642662% - Price tag is so high no one will meet it, which is fine by me. I dont want a fair trade I want to rape and pillage their farm system.

Viz 10% - I see us trade Vizcaino and spending all of next year regretting it.

I like the idea of holding on to Beckham as well, and resigning him this offseason. I don't see anyone meeting the Julio demands...Everyone else listed I think will be gone.
