People are awake now and know who is putting their interests first. People like Gaetz and I know not your favorite MTG are forcing people to take public positions on topics that politicians ran from and relied on the media to obfuscate.

As he goes on to point out, it's too bad the infrastructure bill didn't actually address much infrastructure. I'm sure tearing down racist bridges will help though.

Trump is an existential threat to the Republic. Best case scenario is he wins outright in 2024 because if he doesnt I believe the Republican party is primed and ready to help him commit a coup in 2024. Who knows where we go from there.

I agree with you that it isn't, that's a bipartisan problem. Republicans haven't wanted any new entitlements, Democrats would rather campaign against the issues than fix them. In a constructive Congress, there would be enough of the new populist Pubs next year willing to vote for this stuff that they and the Democrats could get something done.

That's if both groups want to be constructive, instead of taking the obstruction path that Mitch and Nancy have used so beneficially.
