Well the problem with MTG is just about everything, IMO.

The problem with saying nationalism is that most of the people throwing that word around are typically too damn dumb to know what it means.

Patriotism: My country is the best and I love and support my country-----------usually a good thing.

Nationalism: My country/culture/religion is the best and all others are crap and because I'm superior to them I have to right to colonize them, rob them, rape them, take their stuff and so on, because I and my country/culture/religion are the best and therefore I'm superior to you and yours.

I’d think the 1800 definition of nationalism is likely evolved.

I mean if people can be frogsexuals, pretty much it’s all grey area lol

It really hasn't.

Here's the issue si that by saying America is a Christian Nationalist nation she's saying 2 things. First is the nationalism which is that your nation is the most important thing. And while there's some grains of truth and validity to a statement like that, it's stupid. First off almost no one is a nationalist in America. Very few people would put their country above everyone else. Nationalist nations are more like Russia and Communist China. Anyone who identifies as a freedom loving nationalist is a moron.

Attempting to change or soften the nationalist tag is moronic. It would be like saying "I'm a sexist, I believe that both sexes are equal" it's not a thing.

When you add in Christian to Nationalist you're then writing out the 30-40% of Americans who don't consider themselves Christian.

What MGT is doing is revving up her base with rhetoric in a way to keep them voting by appealing to their lowest forms of identity. If you don't vote for me you're not a christian or an American. It's disgusting and people should drag her for it. But they won't.

But I'm not shocked that he'd find the women at the Anti-Abortion rallies hotter as typically they're high school kids.
