Triple Crown

Three thoughts.

1. Sorry to see he didn't win.
2. I think the horse's owner had a right to be pissed.
3. That reporter is a damn moron asking the jockey if it was bittersweet to win a lot of money.

The owner is gonna be a meme. I can feel it. He said so many lol worth
 
I sort of hope he runs for president. Would be glorious. I agree with a lot of what he said, but it would have sounded better had he said it later and not in the heat of the moment.
 
Back in the day when Triple Crowns weren't as rare as they are now, there were only 6-10 other horses competing whereas in the modern era you have almost 20 in each of the Big 3 races.

Sure the owner is pissed but California Chrome looked not as strong in the opening, and didn't finish strong like he did the previous two races.

I think if CC won, it'd be that much more pleasing because all of the gripes he mentioned. CC was actually in it until the very end, so it isn't like he was dead last and fatigued.
 
No but competing against to what amounts to "closers" in every different race is bs. They are bred for different type races. I'd rather follow horse racing if the same 20 were in the big three and that's it.
 
That's the issue. Chrome had to face fresh horses where he had been running so much last few weeks. Longer race and the fresher horse had more juice at the end.
