Trump Indictment Watch

This was a ruling that changed precedent for what's considered an "official act". So Jack Smith was only following the legal precedent that had been set by many convictions. I don't know how you would expect Smith to know the Supreme Court would change the precedent already set. The court didn't weigh in on whether that exonerated McDonnell. It just narrowed the definition for "official act" thus requiring vacating the conviction with state having the options to retry the case if they wanted.

You just regurgitate anything from your overlords without even looking into it.

LOL!

"The justices ruled the jury received faulty instructions about what constitutes bribery under federal law." Smith pulled a fast one on them.

"Chief Justice John Roberts said the law can’t punish politicians for giving their constituents access to public officials who are willing to listen, but don’t actually exercise government power. He said setting up a meeting, talking to another official or organizing an event does not meet the definition of an official act under the law."

The jury received faulty instructions because the Supreme Court changed the definition of "official act". Not because Smith did anything wrong. The judge in the case settles what instructions are given to the jury. So if anything was wrong it was the Judge who you somehow think should have known the Supreme Court would later narrow the definition of "official act". Notice the appeals court affirmed the decision because the jury instructions were correct according to the precedent.

One day the precedent for marijuana Prohibition will be overturned because it relies on the interstate commerce clause to give the federal government the power to regulate marijuana that is neither sold or crosses state lines. So I guess every prosecutor who has a conviction overturned when that happens is corrupt.

They changed it because of Smith himself. He took the law to an extreme limit to where the SCOTUS had to say enough with even the lefties there agreeing. Did you notice that Smith didn't retry him with the new rules in place which he would have been allowed to do? This was a hit job that most prosecutors wouldn't do.

That is a...special.... take. Jury instructions are set by the Judge with both sides being given a chance to argue for what they want. The Judge is the one who is responsible for making sure it is correct. From what I have read prosecutors did want to retry the case. McDonnell might have gotten off but what he did was still viewed as corrupt regardless of the legality. The state legislature specifically made it a crime after his case. McDonnell got off on a technicality. Several other convictions were overturned because of the Supreme Courts decision and one was dropped because of it. So Jack Smith was hardly pushing anything extreme.

He lost 8-0, bud. Even one lib judge couldn't say that with the law change he was guilty. McDonnel's lawyers gave Smith 40 pages that showed that Bob was innocent so even without the law change he was more than likely innocent. If you want to know where Smith's ethics are just ask yourself why is he leaking info to the press, all of which is a felony?

Trump announces he's being indicted

It is a shame he didn't lock HRC. I hope the next GOP president is as ruthless to its political opponents as these communists are. There is plenty to work with

DeSantis has proven himself to be ruthless enough to do it. The war is on.

Deep state gonna deep state

The good news is that so many Americans no longer believe our government and institutions are legitimate. An important step defeating the communists

I would love to be a fly on the wall during the plea discussions.

I think Trump has done this all on purpose, knowing that his only hope in re-election is to stir the pot again and get another groundswell of illogical/insane support.

It's so much easier to attack the govt as an alleged criminal than to speak coherently about actual policy.

Trump indicted on atleast 7 federal charges in Florida. Lol. Indictment is in Florida. No doubt some of you will still claim a Florida jury is biased against him. Due to appearances in court on Tuesday. Hopefully he stops getting special treatment and gets treated like every other person that goes through the criminal system. I told you people he would be running from the law for the rest of his life
Not because anyone is out to get him, but because he is a delusional narcissist who thinks he is above the law.
