Before somebody yells Espionage Act the powers that the president has protects him from that as long as he does nothing to endanger the U.S.. Pretty darn shameful how you people believe this corruption is legit. DeSantis' AG will have a lot of corruption to clean out.

imo it would be a good thang if a trump-appointed judge were assigned to this case

the law is the law and at the end of the day the rulings made have to conform to it...and those rulings are subject to appeal
 
Its only a matter of time before Trump attacks whatever Judge it is no matter who appointed them. My guess would be as soon as his motion to dismiss is denied.
 
I am sorry, is the news about a former President being indicted and possible spending the rest of his life in prison a topic that bores you? I am a history buff. This is historical stuff people will talk about long into the future. **** off if you dont care.
 
Former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr, once one of the ex-president’s top defenders, appeared stunned and speechless Thursday afternoon when a Fox News host surprised him by asking why the U.S. Dept. of Justice is pursuing a criminal investigation against Trump over classified documents while he is running again for president.

“Why is this process happening so quickly in the middle of a presidential election?” Fox’s Martha MacCallum asked. She neglected to mention that Donald Trump reportedly announced his presidential campaign to avoid being charged.

Barr, who is on record stating he opposes Trump’s actions surrounding the hundreds of classified and top secret documents he likely unlawfully removed from the White House and refused to return, paused for several seconds before replying.

“Uh,” Barr finally replied, “This, this was a fairly simple case,” he said, appearing to defend DOJ.

“The Mar-a-Lago case. This is a case that can be done relatively quickly, and that’s why I thought, it’s the main – because it’s a very limited question,” Barr explained, shifting gears. “It relates to, ah, one collection of documents and and why they weren’t given to the government once they were subpoenaed. And it’s a pretty simple case.”

Bill Barr is right. It is a pretty simple case. The DoJ gave very poorly chosen one multiple opportunities to resolve the matter. His lawyers (the more competent ones) urged him to avail himself of those opportunities. He chose not to take their advice.
 
Our local courts are like 4 years backlogged due to covid.

I find government efficiency a long shot explanation in this instance.

I have a hobby of studying US history from the last 100 years. I was doing it long before Trump. Not going to ignore history while living in it.
