Trump Indictment Watch

The crime-fraud exception was litigated before Judge Howell (the judge presiding over the grand jury in DC). I'm not sure delay is politically favorable for very poorly chosen one. I think this case (and the ones yet to come) will cut differently with public opinion than Bragg's case.

It's a shame these trials and cases are mostly playing out in the court of public opinion, which is fickle and easily manipulated. If not he would've already been arrested. The DOJ has to tread on egg shells and avoid any mistake, no matter how trivial. The US court/trial system is stacked against govt and protects the guilty as well as the innocent.

Should crimes involving national security and espionage be decided by juries made up of Tom, Dick and Harry?

That's how it should be. Our legal system is not perfect but by and large it gets the job done.

I could not disagree more. Trump has the best chances in a situation like this but for the average person the deck is stacked against them. Not the government. The government against the average person Judge shops for the most biased pro government Judge to bring the case in their jurisdiction. People like Snowden and Assange will get glorified kangaroo courts if they get the chance. And all cases should be brought before a jury if the defendant chooses. What is national security can easily be manipulated. Got evidence that the President committed a crime? Well that jeopardizes national security. We can't trust a jury with this. Brings it before a corrupt Judge auditioning for a promotion willing to do whatever the government wants. Got evidence the FBI did something wrong? Well it hurts national security if people lose faith in the FBI so that's national security too. Can't have that going before a jury. We need laws specifically legalizing exposing crimes by the government spnlpng as it wasn't done using violence.

And spoiler for the Stooges. There will be FBI agents in the crowd of Trump supporters if they gather at the courthouse. And no, thats not controversial.

Trumps DoJ prosecuted Reality Winner(yes real name) for leaking a classified document that talked about Russian attempts to hack 2016 infrastructure. She got 5 years in prison. For telling us stuff we should have the right to know. Would you be okay with the Biden DoJ prosecuting someone for leaking classified documents showing China tried to hack our election in 2020? Honestly if that was something Trump had I wouldnt even be mad at him for keeping it. Remember who was against even doing recounts in 2016. That claims election fraud was covered up in 2020. But was doing the covering up in 2016.

So he went on tv and gave up his 5th amendment rights and admitted to the crimes

Weird

"I needed more time (2 years) to get the golf shirts and pants out of the boxes."

"Mr. Trump, why were there golf shirts and pants mixed in with the top secret and classified documents?"
