Ask yourself why Trump wont take the stand to defend himself. Because he has no answer to questions like.....

Legal. Maybe unethical. But perfectly legal. To ask them. And for them not to vote for the candidate whose slate they are on (except for a few states who have made it binding). There is a long and colorful history of so-called unfaithful electors.

Seriously, READ THE INDICTMENT. If Trump asked Pence to do whatever and Pence said no then Trump moved on with his life he isnt facing charges. This indictment is about actions taken in conjunction with words. Trump could have done a 24 hour live broadcast on Fox News claiming the election was rigged and martians came down from Uranus and voted for Biden and he wouldnt be indicted for it. They set up fraudulent electors under the guise of alternate electors despite no reason to believe any state would be overturned. They asked Pence to reject the real electors and accept the fake electors. When WH counsel told Pence that wasnt legal he declined. Then they asked him to just reject enough Biden electors so he doesnt get to 270. WH council told Pence that was not legal and he declined. Then they settled on asking Pence to send it back to the states. WH councesl again told Pence that wasnt a legal option and he declined. Then Trump went on a campaign to try to intimidate Pence into taking that action including setting up an angry mob and riling them up with lies and setting them loose on the Capital and their stated goal was to stop the certification from happening on the date it was constitutionally required to be done. Trump has a constitutional right to lie. What he doesnt have a right to do is stop or delay the certification of the President-elect through illegal means. There is a process for contesting the election at the certification. Republicans could have objected to every state and it would have delayed the proceedings in a lawful manner.
 
Looks like Eastman convinced himself that he had a duty to save the country from the existential threat posed by the Democrats. Through extra-constituional means if necessary. Really interesting comments. He knew what he was doing. Also explains why he requested to be added to the pardon list.

I would add that his beliefs and his rights to express those beliefs are protected by the constitution. But to propose a far-fetched legal theory as cover for a coup doesn't change the fact that he is complicit in the coup attempt. When he gets indicted and goes on trial I think there is a good chance this interview will be shown to the jury.

Trump made it all of 24 hours before violating his terms of release. None of these Judges have the balls to do what they would do to you or me if we said we were coming after those prosecuting me. I am sick and tired of this 2 tiered justice system. They will let him do whatever the hell he wants and just keep asking him nicely to please follow the terms of release. Even this supposedly biased against him Obama Judge. I might say it would do him some good to not be able to speak publicly but that was about 250 confessions ago. I am sure there will be a whole day in the trial just showing his lawyers media interviews and his social media posts.

Yup. If anyone else threatened or maligned prosecutors, judges and potential witnesses the way he has they would be locked up.
 
Yeah they keep crying about two tiered justice system but he is clearly in the higher their there is. It aint a two tiered system its a 10 tiered system with him at the top. I remember one lawyer telling me the best way to get a good ruling from a judge was to pay a lawyer who went to the same law school a lot of money. They dont do anything different but it gets better results. The criminal justice system is a joke.

Since I know Garmel and Tapate are desperate for updates here's today's. Trumps lawyers filed a motion asking for more time to explain Trumps threatening social media post. DoJ says you got time to file a motion for delay you got time to respond to a 5 page motion.




Also, Jack Smith turned over additional security footage evidence that was not turned over by mistake. And according to MAGA that's the real crime and despite getting it a week after the rest of the evidence Jack Smith should be disbarred and and prosecuted. Lol.
 
The Stooges look to be taking a break. Its been nice here without them and their constant gaslighting. In other news NY AG in new filing says she is ready to go to trial against Trump in her civil fraud case against him.
 
Always good to see a revival on the forum. Same story though - can’t wait till the inevitable ending.
