In ex-Brave farmhand news, our old friend (well, actually he's still only 23) Isranel Wilson is tied for the HR lead in the Double-A South. The Rocket City Trash Panda OF has 10 HRs. He's striking out one third of the time, but it's nice to see that when he does make contact, it goes a long way. Ray-Patrick Didder also plays for the Trash Pandas (AA entry for the Los Angeles Angels).

Eric Cole on Talking Chop made a comment this week about how talent was never the question with Wilson but alluded to the fact that he had a pretty poor work ethic and reputation with his teammates. Does anyone know what he is referring to?

I hoped Ball would get off to a better start than his .712 OPS.

Yet another reason to simply play things out for another month to try and learn more about what you've got - the 2020 alternate site probably gave you insight into potential upside, but it simply wasn't "regular competition".

I remember Wilson getting sent home early from one of the rookie league entries he played for (I think it was Danville). I don't know what prompted that.

From last night's boxes, it looks like Freddie Tarnok turned into Freddie Tarknockedoutofhim.

Jesse Franklin V (not to be confused with Thurston Howell III or Chatsworth Osborne Jr.) hit his 6th HR in June after none in May. 1.433 OPS for the month.

He may have gotten in a fight with a teammate? I have some vague recollection of something like that. I do remember him getting a “bad character” rap for some reason, which was too bad, because I remembered him as standing out for being super nice to my son at ST one year.
