Wasn't Riley always in the long range plan at 3B? If not, I doubt a few good weeks at AA is going to do anything to change that.

You would definitely want to see if any power returned next season before considering him contributing to an MLB roster.

I don't think his 2016 did anything to rule him out as a possible contributor. .282/.342 12 HR 38 2b at 21 in AA pitchers park seemed somewhat promising, though not enough to pencil him in the starting lineup.

I've always seen Dustin Peterson as one of those guys with a second-tier ceiling. He kills LHP (although not with much power this season) and could be the RHH part of a platoon. I think the question for him becomes his defense. He played 3B early in his minor league career, but he's pretty much been a LF since coming to the Braves. Doubt he could play CF consistently, so that would hamper him. If he could field 3B and 1B without looking like he's playing beep baseball, that would help him. Big thing for him will be getting fully recovered from the injury. No question it's been a down year for him. My guess is that he will be put on the 40-man roster this off-season.
 
Peterson is strictly a LF. His bat would have to be great to play there full time. I can't see it.
