Touki his normal awesome self again. Wright with another inning out of the pen - bet he's on the playoff roster. Demeritte with his 17th bomb and Burrows bucking for promotion.

I'm guessing Touki starts against the Pirates on Sunday so the rotation gets an extra day rest

There were a fair number of promotions and some really young guys, but is there a true prospect on the GCL squad that finished the season?

is there a reason to keep teheran in the rotation over toussaint at this point?

Julio's 5 starts in August have been good...
Era = 3.16
FIP = 3.79
K9 = 8.33
Bb9 = 2.87
31.1 ip/5 games ~ 6.1 ip/start

1 pitch away from another good start last night. I'd keep running him out there for now

I'd be getting touki, Wilson, and gohara ready for the pen

Yeah, I'm fine with Teheran right now. He's been more than serviceable the last month+. We need to just make it a 6-man rotation and add Touki in.

I'm pretty concerned about the end of the year rosters in Rome, Danville, GCL and DSL. There is just not much there at all. Obviously part of that is because we have a lot of talent in the upper levels, but with the international restrictions and not signing our first rounder this year, those bottom levels look really bad right now.

he's fine for 3 starts until he's not. touki is likely the better option moving forward.

I'm fine with making a spot for Touki at this point but with Newcomb and Folty probable to pass career highs, it's unlikely to be in a 5 man rotation this year. What's more likely to happen is he becomes the 6th man and makes a few starts then shifts to the pen mid-late September.

There's a good chance he's the 4th best guy but even if you were careful, he has a probable IP limit too. So if we cross the bridge to the playoffs, it probably has to be Sanchez or Teheran as 4th.

Is that Kyle Wright with another relief appearance? Is that happening with a plan to come to Atlanta in September or just to keep his innings down as they finish the season?

Maybe both, but definitely the latter.

They are going to pay a price for the loss of international signings. Particularly since they've been traditionally pretty good at finding talent.

But, the extent of the problem is going to depend quite a bit on how well they draft and how they manage the minor league system and major league club going forward.

Are they going to strip the lower levels for benefit of major league club? Will they sell off assets at the major league level when it makes sense to improve minor league depth?

With all the pitching in the upper minors, surely the braves can trade some for younger minor league players to restock
