Anderson might be off mechanically. He threw nothing but Fastballs that entire first inning except for the very last pitch.. nasty curve that got very weak contact. But his fast ball is still popping in with late movement. only thing is he is missing up and away from righties and just up on lefties. he literally missed on 7 straight fast balls. 4 pitch walk, then got down 3-0 to the next guy.. battled back to 3-2 before a line drive to the gap.. runner of first was going of course so scored easily.

Not sure if PC told him to just throw fast balls or if he is just not feeling right warming up. But you could tell his control was bothering him.

At that level, a lot of times, they are working on something specific. They may have tried to get him to do something different mechanically, or a different grip, and he is struggling to get it working.

That is what I was saying about the PC telling him to throw only FB. they may be working on something. His second inning was much better... did give up another double, but this one was a ball hit directly in front of plate and bounced over and past 3B. I saw a few more curves and maybe a few change ups. but the camera is not great and hard to tell.

Anderson getting crushed today.

yeah, I quit watching because my feed kept locking up and I am about to wrap up for the day and head home to the ankle bitters. but his stat line is not looking good. What I did see was a lot of misses on his fastball though. I hope this is just a mechanical blip and not something bigger to worry about. The first 3 starts I watched, he had great command of many of his pitches. This Anderson couldn't hit the ocean if he fell out of a boat.

Very interesting. That 11 WAR projection for Acuna would have put him as the #11 prospect in baseball before the year.

The 6 for Pache would have put him #49.

Interesting to see the tidbit about Pache's "elite" defense in center.

People keep writing about his defense like it's absolutely elite. I've watched quite a few ABs of his this year, and I really like him moving forward. It's a lot of singles right now, and I don't think anyone believes he'll be a big HR guy, but he makes a lot of solid contact.

Rome scores seven runs in 7th (so far) to tie game wth Greenville. First of two, was final AB.

Justin Ellison go-ahead homer for Rome. He's kind of interesting to me. Good athlete who can run and is hitting a little, even if he's repeating Rome.
