Its going to be interesting to see who gets the next call in prospect world... Sims or Weigel. Sims has been around longer, but Weigel has been more consistently dominant. I think Medlen still gets the next shot.

Rotation spots are actually somewhat scarce even assuming the elderly are cut or whatever.

Blair had a nice start last go around

Sims and Weigel are potential parts of the future rotation. I don't think Medlen and Blair are. Sims and Weigel should get priority if an opportunity at the major league level opens up.

The interesting question is who should get the first nod. Sims has put in more time in the minors but Weigel has been basically fantastic from the minute he was drafted.

I'd lean towards Sims as I think Weigel still could learn a few things pitching in non-pressure situations.

I imagine Medlen will take to the bullpen and they'll implant Sims into the rotation. They may switch that, but I bet that's the thought process as of now.

I prefer Weigel to stay in AAA until call ups. I think Dickey is going on the DL in a few more starts anyway and they will choice between Albers, wisler, Blair or Meds. I think Sims first big league shot will be al la Luke Jackson pen work. Honestly it makes no sense at this point for Dickey to have another start. He has no value. Cut ties or move him to the pen and let Wisler fail.

I'm with you here.

Totally cool with letting Wisler get ~4 starts in a row to see what he does. Can't really be worse than Dickey, but at least he MIGHT represent some future value.
