TUESDAY MINORS THREAD 6/13 ... Weigel Rolls On; Rome Rout

The interesting question is who should get the first nod. Sims has put in more time in the minors but Weigel has been basically fantastic from the minute he was drafted.

I'd lean towards Sims as I think Weigel still could learn a few things pitching in non-pressure situations.

I'd look at their strikeout and walk rates in AAA. Sims has been superior on both counts so far this year.

Acuna

.157/.218/.235, 1 HR, 17 SO, 3 BB

I think what is going on with Acuna is that he is a bit bored and not really challenged by the level of play in AA. His recent performance suggests a need to be promoted to AAA or preferably the majors.

I know you laugh but Bridges did say we had Acuna "right around the corner"

I guess I'm not really sure what part of those numbers suggest that he's bored?

It's ok to say a guy is struggling.

I'm guessing nsacpi was joking.

Acuna is struggling. It's what guys do in baseball. That .500 BABIP wasn't going to last for long.

Now is when we really see how good he is.
