On Don Lemon's CNN show Saturday, Rick Wilson and Wajahat Ali react to Mike Pompeo cursing and accusing an NPR host of not knowing where Ukraine is after a testy interview. Wilson said this is something that appeals to Trump "rubes" and makes them feel like Trump is the smart one and "y'all elites are dumb." The two then said Trump supporters aren't familiar with geography, spelling, reading, knowing other countries, and drinking coffee.
"He's just trying to demean her, and obviously it's false. He also knows that deep in his heart that Donald Trump couldn't find Ukraine on the map if you had the letter 'U' and the picture of an actual, physical crane next to it," Wilson said.
"He knows that this is an administration defined by ignorance of the world," Wilson said as Lemon's face hit the desk. "That's partly him playing to their base and playing to their audience of the credulous boom rube demo that backs Donald Trump that wants to think that (in Southern accent) Donald Trump is the smart one and y'all elitists are dumb."
"You elitists with your geography and your maps and your spelling," Ali chimed in.
"Your math and your reading," Wilson continued.
"Yeah, your reading, your geography, knowing other countries, sipping your latte," Ali said.
"All those lines on the map," Wilson said.

objectively speaking Obama's comments about those who cling to their guns and religion and Clinton's about the basket of deplorables have a certain accuracy
not smart politically but accurate
disrespect is a thing...but so is taking pride in characteristics that richly deserve disrespect
i'm all for making fun of the effete latte drinkers (personal disclosure: my coffee beverage of choice is a flat white)...but equally in favor of mocking those who value ignorance and uncouthness
just to make sure the uncouth get it: the synonyms for uncouth include uncivilized, uncultured, coarse, philistine
not smart politically but accurate
