Wow. Take this with somewhat of a grain of salt, but this actually makes sense. And we knew Freddie was overbearing with letting guys get days off.

Still, I wish Acuña wouldn’t air their dirty laundry like that.

Ouch. Yeah Freddie was probably a bit of a dick. I’m sure there are several guys that are glad he’s gone but won’t say so.

Then, he was asked about Freeman and he said he won’t miss him because he was too cocky and one time Ronnie painted eye black on and Freddie came and wiped it off and said we don’t do it like that. I guess complaining about the design Ronnie drew. Ronnie said he was very shocked he did that too him. They were just teammates Ronnie said. No friendship.

What an asshole.

Didn't Freddie call out Acuna in the playoffs for not running out a flyball he thought was a homer after MLB dejuiced the ball? Yet it was Freddie who sucked ass that series while Acuna was beasting?

I'm paraphrasing because I'm lazy but here goes an atempt.

Q: How was your relationship between you and FF? What are you going to miss from him?

A: Nothing

Q: Nothing? You didn't talk much with him?

A: No

Q: No? You weren't close?

A: Only close because we shared the same stadium/field, we had some clashes

Q: Why?

A: You know when I was comming up, you know this happens all the time, there's always some veteran that is trying to play you (? he says "me la queria aplicar", which means something like jokingly haze your or something), so I was comming from the minor leagues and and I used my eye black in some way (he describes it), and some veterans called him into the office, then they took some towel and took the eye black off, and of course I just took it because I couldn't say anything. One day I will be a veteran, I'm not saying I'm a veteran now, but no one is going to come on and wipe the eye black off my face anymore you know?

Q: Not anymore?

A: No, not anymore

Something we can all agree on: not all leaders are good leaders.

This is true. I would argue that the results of this team would lead me to think it does have good leadership. Not sure most teams keep fighting like we did after devastating injury like Acuna last year.

Wow. This changes my perception of everything and I’m starting to understand why AA didn’t “fight” to bring him back.

This was the best move for the organization. Acuna was/is/will be the face the organization. Must have pissed Freddie off big time.

I'm not going to pile on the bs with regards to Freddie...he'll always be a beloved Brave. But is anyone really surprised that this COULD be true?

Going all the way back to high school when he was highly sought after, he had a bit of Jerk-itude to him. In any case, I'm hoping Ronnie keeps his head down, keeps enjoying what he's doing and don't worry about A dodger until they play each other.

It's been obvious for a while that Freddie and Ronnie have a chilly relationship. Doesn't make either of them bad people. They are just very different. Little King is the glue guy on this team.

The more interesting thing to me is Snit's dislike for Ronnie (which also seems very obvious to me).

The movie Amadeus comes to mind. Ronnie is like Mozart as depicted in the movie, with all that this implies. "The creature."

Yeah you can tell that Snit isn’t Acunas biggest fan. As a coach that can’t happen.

I don't think Snit "doesn't like" Acuna, I think he really just doesn't understand him. Great young players have a fire that comes out in flare & pumping themselves up with dramatics. Snit is old school and he thinks "nose to the grindstone" and "look like you have been here before" are better mantras.

He wants Acuna to be the best in baseball and is afraid that if you focus too much on "selfies" & "swords" then you risk the chance of not putting in the work to keep getting better. Not necessarily but possibly. Snit doesn't stop those type of actions & Wash & EY support them actively, so Snit is smart enough to know he needs those type of motivations to make his team a "team". That is where I think he shines as a manager. Build a coaching staff that fills all the necessary aspects of a coaching staff and then let them do their thing their way.

Based on Ronnie's reply tweet and your general synopsis, I am gonna guess it was taken out of context or a bit was lost in translation. I'm sure they are not best friends or anything, but it doesn't seem like they had some big beef like the original tweet implied.

Acuna is the loud, brash Latino player stereotype to the highest degree. Of course, he would offend white people will old school sensibilities (like Snit and Freddie). With that said, Ronald does seem to have some maturity issues.

I think Snit has done a great job as manager and deserves to stick around. But I do the Braves hire a Latin manager next that will be able to connect with RAJ and help him grow into more of a leader.
