Untouchables

My list of untouchables would be much longer than most on here. I just think our system is young and needs more time to develop before we start adding them into trades. I am ready to win like the next fan, but much more interested in building a winner that is sustainable like the Cubs did/doing....

I have not seen any concerns on td arm or d.

I do think the td hype train is way out of the station. He still in lower minors and striking out a ton.

To me he's a potential sell high candidate if the right trade comes along. And the right trade is someone you can control for 3+ years and you expect to be 3 war or better. And in that deal he's prob third piece

I'm really excited about TD and do not want to trade him, but the idea is to always trade at highest peak value. I think he still has room to grow his value, but I also would not be surprised to see him traded with all of the positive pub he's gotten lately.

With you Russ. Baez didn't start striking out at the rate Demeritte does until he hit AA. Demeritte isn't even in AA yet. I like Demeritte, but he's got big time contact issues. He could be the middle infield version of Mike Hessman.

Depending on the circumstances and the return, I don't think that a minor league player should be untouchable, least of all one that is years away from the big leagues. Not that I would be in a hurry to trade any of the top guys.

But at some point, this team is going to need to go out and acquire something of value and no matter how hard people try to figure out a way that someone like Chris Ellis is going to bring a major return, it ain't likely to happen.

Amen, mah bruthuh

Next offseason there are going to be more opportunities to add talent. This is quite literally the worst FA class of our generation. The Braves couldn't have picked a worse year to have money and assets to spend.

....and after half of them sign extensions with their current clubs, next year's crop will suck, too.
