Upcoming Roster Moves

Where the heck is Arcia? I thought when he was acquired that he would almost automatically be with the big league team.

I can't figure it out either. DOB said they think he's too good to just sit on the bench, but I can't imagine they really acquired him to play him in Triple A unless a starting infielder gets hurt.

Grant Dayton's lack of options makes him completely untouchable it appears. That 0.0 fWAR in his time in Atlanta certainly justifies it.

Have never understood the Dayton situation personally.

Sending Newk down since he's optionable makes sense since he's been a bit Jekyll And Hyde-ish of late, but he ought to be sent down with one thing in mind - either use him several days in a row in Gwinnett before he gets called back up so he becomes an actual late-inning weapon out of the pen again, or start using him once through the order twice a week so he's an option you can piggyback with Smyly or the 5th SP when he comes back up. I just don't think Newk will ever have good enough control to be a 1-2 inning a week guy and not be used regularly.

My guess is that Newk is going down to get some consistent work because Dayton or Biddle gets dropped whenever Martin is activated so they can keep Santana around with the shortage of RH arms in our pen.

2 years ago you hold onto Dayton... but now I'd just rather him go on his way. He's not as bad as he's been, but he's not gonna ever be really good either.

Yeah I don't know that he gets claimed if we DFA him. Much rather have Newk permanently than sending him down every other week.
