We are currently 2.5 out of the Wildcard

Are there:

1. Moves the GM could have made but didn't that cost us a game or 2?

2. Moves the Manager made that cost us a game or 2?

I'll answer 1st. Bring up LaStella earlier may have been a .5-1.0 game difference.

If Heyward had stayed at the top of the lineup for the full season with Justin and Freeman behind them, we would have a Wild Card spot right now, at the very least.

Amazing how well it worked last year yet we haven't tried it one damn game this year. Not once.

I thought we used that lineup near the beginning of the year for a while.

Either way, it needs to happen. Now. I'm curious to see the lineup when Simmons is back in the lineup (probably today). Whoever is playing CF will probably lead off though.

And, let's face it, Fredi isn't ever going to take La Stella out of the two hole now. I don't really blame him, but Heyward, Upton, Freeman is still our ideal lineup.

Yep.

But Heyward is just sooooo important in that 5th spot....

Heyward/TLS/Justin/Freddie and then pray for something in the next four is what I'd try. What else has actually worked?

Heyward, LaStella, Freeman, Upton

or

Bonifacio, LaStella, Freeman, Upton, Gattis, Heyward

When Simmons comes back it needs to be:

Bonifacio (CF)
LaStella(2B)
Freeman(1B)
Upton(LF)
Gattis (C)
Heyward(RF)
Johnson (3B)
Simmons(SS)
Pitcher

Last Guy on Bench --> BJ

There's absolutely no reason for us not to try Heyward/JUP/Freeman/Gattis/CJoh/Simmons/Boni-BJ. No reason at all!

Seems pretty clear to me....

Braves, when Dan Uggla starts: 21-12
Braves, when Dan Uggla is on the bench: 32-31
Braves, without Dan Uggla on the roster: 8-16
