We dodged a bullet with Maitan

hartcoppy...incompetence married to arrogance and venality

where would the rebuild be without Albies and Acuna

Guys

We dodged a bullet because we won't be heartbroken over a long period of time when he inevitably disappears from baseball because he sucks.

Saves ourselves time. And time is the most precious commodity.

I think it's almost better for him to actually be good and have a productive career. It makes the previous FO look that much worse when they cheated over such a bust.

I absolutely love reading this Hart/Coppy bashing now that they are gone.

It would be hilarious to dig up all the posts where folks around here constantly defended them as a powerhouse FO brain trust who knew more than we did because "they get paid to do this" haha.

If work is slow this afternoon I think I'll do some work on the site's search function.

I never liked Hart. I like “some” things about. Coppy. He was not great at constructing a MLB roster, and he did poorly (minus Shelby trade) in big trades.

He was relentless it stockpiling talent (obviously too much so), and he could “buy low” with the best of them. Did well at adding picks also.

It was the perfect time in the rebuild to move on from him, so it was a blessing in disguise.

Maitan may be fine in the end, a lot of teams aren't like the Braves in that they aggressively push 18 year old kids to full season ball no matter what...the book hasn't closed quite yet.
