Saw late last night that Corbin Clouse headed to Miss. After poor start to season, he has gotten back on the fast track:

ERA in April: 9.72 (7 games, 8.1 innings)
ERA in May: 0.00 (7 games, 9.1 innings)
ERA in June: 0.00 (7 games, 10.2 innings, 19 K, 2 BB)
ERA in July: 0.00 (4 games, 6.2 innings)
Scoreless streak as he heads to AA is 29.2 innings (21 hits, 14 walks, 40 K)

Livan Soto 3-3 with two walks and a stolen base today. I'd love to see him get hot and be ready to start at Rome next year.

Clouse's June was phenomenal. .114 BAA and 0.56 WHIP.

Curious thing about Clouse is that he has reverse splits. Hope he does well. The scouting folks have done a pretty decent job finding some late-round guys who may be fungible at the big league level.

Have any of them worked at the major league level other than Shae Simmons.

His strikeout rate is amazing. His walks are alarming but he's still young.

Hence the word "may." I think Evan Phillips has a shot. Devan Watts and Corbin Clouse have advanced very quickly as well.

We've had guys like Schlosser and Cody Martin make it. But they didn't amount to much. Going back a bit further, Beachy was a very good find. Not even drafted in his case.

Agree. Most of the guys are just behind more established prospects as of yet. Will thin the herd a bit and see what we have.

Obviously a small sample, but Drew Waters is striking out a ton since being promoted to Danville. After his first AB today, he's 3-11 with 6 Ks and 0 BBs.

Playing against a fair number of guys who were in short season ball a year ago or are recently-drafted college players. Big adjustment from the scrimmage-like atmosphere of the GCL.

Baseball America has someone there for the Danville game. It's also the Danville debut for Jaseel De La Cruz. He has put up some interesting numbers in the GCL. Three scoreless so far today with one hit, one walk, 4 Ks. Scouting report from the BA guy on Twitter looks good too:

#Braves RHP Jasseel De La Cruz really showing something here. 92-96 4FB, 90-91 2FB, 85-88 SL. All in zone, all getting swings & misses

We have something in William Contreras, brother of the Cubs' Willson Contreras.

He's now hitting .375 with 2 HR as a 19-year-old at Danville. 2-2 tonight.
