WEDNESDAY MINORS FINAL 7/26 ... GCL Hitters on Rampage

Acuna with an opposite field flyout. 0-3 tonight but his K% is down to an even 20% in 60 PA. Average at .275. BABIP continues its downward spiral.

In terms of pure upside who is our #1 pitching prospect. If all goes rperfectly right...

Touki might be that guy. Him or Anderson.

Pure upside. Probably Touki. Although I will say I think Gohara has a big upside if he can maintain his weight. Big arm from the left side with some nasty secondary pitches.

1. Touki

2. Gohara

3. Newcomb

4. Wright

5. Fried

6. Allard

7. Del Rosario

8. Anderson

9. Wentz

10. Soroka

11. Wilson

12. Muller

In terms of pure ceiling, that's probably about how I'd rank them. I might move Del Rosario up, but I don't know as much about him. It seems crazy to have Anderson 8 and Soroka 10, but most of our top guys have pretty elite ceilings, there's just a lower likelihood for several to get there.

I wanted to include Gohara in that discussion as well. I'm a big believer in Anderson though. The reports on his stuff early in the year was absurd. They are taking it real slow in his first full professional season.

I get your rationale. Seems like a pretty solid listing. I may just be irrationally bullish on Anderson.

And I may be bearish on his upside, though I really like him as a prospect and would probably have him no lower than 5th among our pitching prospects overall. But none of us really know anything, this is just my opinion based on what I've read. His K rate is mighty promising.

If you recall their was reporting on his stuff early in the year that had his fastball with plus movement in the mid to high 90s to go along with a CU that flashed plus along with a good curve.

I mean...what else could we want?

So he can move 3 levels next year..

Have no problems with that as long as he is evaluated as ready for it. Loom at guys like touki. Kid showed he wasn't ready and the braves took a more traditional developmental promotion path. The player dictates their development...not the organization.

What about Swanson? I know you love the FO but they are far from perfect. They are tryin to rush the rebuild and they need to slow down a little bit.
