COMPLEX ROOKIES

FCL Braves, idle

Wow!! I knew the Mississippi Braves were doing great, but I didn't think they were 507 games over .500. Must have been a lot of make-up games I missed. Hope they didn't wear out the pitchers' arms.

Rico is a beast for doing these. But the occasional typos are usually comedic gold.

I appreciate everything he's doing and the updates are great. One of the highlights of my sports' press day. But sometimes the typos put the ball squarely on the tee and I just have to swing.

3rd rounder LHP Dylan Dodd and 10th rounder RHP Dylan Spain both activated in Augusta.

So out of our 19 picks who signed, the only ones who aren't active yet are:

2nd round RHP Spencer Schwellenbach (Had Tommy John)
7th round RHP AJ Smith-Shawver
11th round LHP Adam Shoemaker
16th round LHP Kris Anglin

Would love to see Smith-Shawver and Shoemaker get some FCL innings before it ends this year.

I am really curious about Spain. Was pretty much a "street" draftee because he wasn't affiliated with a college although he pitched a couple of years ago for Hawaii-Hilo. One of the reasons they drafted him is because he would sign for next-to-nothing. He's 23 so it wouldn't be a surprise that he may have simply physically overmatched the younger FCL players and it will be interesting to see how he does with a step up. Clearly, an awesome MLB-level name.

9th-rounder C Liam McGill is on the FCL active roster, but has yet to see game action.

He probably doesn't have a lot of money, But what he does have are a very particular set of skills; skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for people in the FCL. If you promote him now, that'll be the end of it

Is it just me, or is every Liam Neeson movie the same thing now just set in different places?

Yep. Even saw one where he had no skills and the other dude still winds up "taken" an azz whipping. Lol

I haven't watched Ice Road on Netflix yet. Saw the previews and Neeson's character's special set of skills appears to be driving an 18-wheeler on icy roads. Nothing about a daughter being kidnapped, so I don't know how complex the plot is, but I'm sure there will be something.

This review has a pretty nice breakdown of the plot. It sounds appropriately ridiculous.

Lmao...as if any of his movies aren't? But I feel if you take a movie for what it is and not take it seriously...you can hedge your bets. Ice Road was....a movie. I immediately wanted to drive tricks over ice. Lol

Shewmake homer. His OPS is now .710, which is actually pretty remarkable when you consider how awful he was for the first month or two.

Saw this on Twitter.

Braden Shewmake’s first 22 games
.094/.144/.165
1 HR, 3 XBH
27.8% K, 5.6% BB

His last 46 games
.317/.351/.550
9 HR, 22 XBH
14.7% K, 4.7% BB

Wonder if they changed his swing. The power surge, along with the early season struggles seem to indicate they may have
