I saw a tweet a few weeks ago (I can’t remember where), that he was averaging around 93 in a game on his fastball in a game. I find that hard to believe, but if so...that’s a big deal.

Had not heard about velocity increasing for allard. He still isn’t striking out many.

As I recall his issue was it was slow and straight. He probably needs a cutter or something that moves. If he had movement at 88-92 with his secondary stuff then you are likely thrilled with him as your 4/5.

Duvall needs to be up...somewhere.

I don’t get it. San Fran is bad. They are particularly bad in the of. Seems like a great fit. Maybe it’s just too early in the year.

If I was a San Fran fan I’d love to turn anyone in that pen into Demeritte Or Duvall. Those are guys who might be upgrades for a couple of years and my team has shown they can put together a bullpen.

i doubt SF would buy Duvall as couple-year upgrade. also doubt Demeritte has shown enough as an OF to warrant dealing one of those guy for him. everyone will want those guys when SF decides to sell. they'll do better than Demeritte or Duvall.

I don't think so. Most of those guys have one year of control or some decent salaries. I don't see San Fran going full rebuild and wanting AA and lower prospects.

If San Fran doesn't go at least 3/4ths full rebuild then their franchise is in trouble. They have a bad farm and no high end talent under the age of 25. They need to be selling their current assets for future value. If they also want some MLB caliber pieces to help along the way, we can offer that as well. I would do a pretty sweet deal for them if they'd be willing to send some of their bullpen pieces over. I'd trade Duvall plus a few guys like Muller, Tarnok, Izzy Wilson, Demeritte, and/or Ynoa if it could bring back guys like Will Smith, Tony Watson, Trevor Gott, Moronto, and/or Sam Dyson. I'd love to swing a deal for a righty and a lefty out of that group.

Can't trade Demeritte. He's going to take over for Albies any day now.

Anyway, I don't see either of these two having a ton of value. Duvall is 30 and Demeritte has to put a full season together (which he may be on the cusp of doing). San Francisco could be interested in someone like Inciarte when he's healthy. I can see the Braves looking for a back-up OF who can play CF on an extended basis at some point and trading both Camargo and Inciarte for bullpen help.

Probably has zero value. Tarnok is a project. I can see Ynoa being used in a deal, but I can also envision him on the Braves' big club at some point this season. I think we'd be nuts to trade Muller at this point.

Smith is in the last year of his deal. Those guys don't fetch a ton.
Watson and Dyson have this year and next at 3 million or so...maybe that is a nice return.
Gott and Moronto have a lot of control....just depends on how good do you think they are.

Muller might be in a deal to get back a major leaguer with few years of control but don’t see him being used for veteran relievers.

I don't think Izzy Wilson is valueless. I think a club like the Giants, who have very little depth on the farm could value him as a nice little 40 FV outfielder. He'd obviously be filler, but sometimes that filler is needed to push a deal across the finish line. Guys like Tarnok and Ynoa are exactly the kinds of guys I think San Fran should be targeting. The high upside guys with enormous risk attached to them. They can get guys like that in high volume by smartly trading some of their relievers.

As far as an exact trade that I'd like, maybe something like this: Will Smith and Moronta for Duvall, Tarnok, Trey Riley, and Justin Dean. It may take a little more than that since Moronta has been pretty darn good the past few years and is controlled through 2023. Maybe replace Dean with another guy in the 11-25 organizational range. Its hard to properly valuate Moronta.

Now, if we were just going for Will Smith or someone like that, I'd maybe offer just 1-2 guys in the back end of our top 30.

I'd be fine trading Muller for a two reliever package from the Giants that included Moronta and one of their good lefties, but I wouldn't want to give up much beyond Muller.
