19-year-old Joey Wentz, who has gone 8-3, 2.70 for the Rome Braves this season, has been named the SAL's top pitcher for 2017.

Wentz, a 6-5 left-hander, was the Braves' compensation round pick in 2016.

Teammate Bryse Wilson, was 10-6, 2.52, was also named as the league's top right-hander.

Rome manager Dan Meyer was named the league's "coach" of the year. I always considered them managers, but it's the SAL's award.

Bryce Wilson was a homerun pick. It's maybe the best draft choice the team has made since Andrelton Simmons, when you factor in when he was drafted.

Hey the top lefty and top righty in the SAL from the same draft and that doesn't even include Anderson who had a good year himself. Let's hope these guys keep coming on.

Isn't Meyer the PC?
