What IS "Fair Value" That Would Entice Miami To Trade Realmuto Within The Division?

Bumgarner has been a 4 FIP pitcher the last 2 years and is a free agent after 2019

Not to mentioning that he's...

1.) Beginning his decline

and

2.) A pretty big injury-risk himself after the last 2 years.

There are already rumblings out there that the reason MadBum hasn't been extended already to have him finish his career as a Giant is because even their brass knows that tying up big money in him at this point is a bad idea. His fastball velocity is down pretty substantially from his dominant years, and I'm sure he's "available" now if someone's willing to overpay and take Giants' management off the hook before they have to offer him an insulting contract as far as their fans will be concerned.

I'd love to have AA gamble on what's left of his current deal since he's a local kid (40 miles from me), but any overpay would absolutely HAVE to come from our "spare parts".

They're in the same boat with him that we were during Chipper's last few years - still elite when healthy and "on", but you don't want to have to count on him as anything but a bonus.

If they'd take Fried, Allard, and Rio, sure - I'll roll those dice.
