For those of you who keep up on the latest tech news, you probably saw that Samsung is "region locking" new Note 3's, S4's and S3's. I think everyone is still a little confused about exactly what it means, but seems like even if you buy a full retail, unlocked phone, you can only use it with a sim card from the country originally sold to.
I'm sure the users who travel to different countries regularly are a small minority, but I travel to the US 2-3 times a year for 1-2 weeks at a time. I have a T-Mobile prepaid sim I pop in my phone and get unlimited calls plus data for about $3 a day vs. about $4 a minute roaming.
I've been an android and Samsung supporter but after this, I won't be upgrading to a S4 or Note 3 like I was planning.
Hope this isn't a trend with all phone manufacturers.
