What to do about Fried?

According to Phillip Roth every nice jewish boy needs to have a shiksa at some point in his life, preferably a farm girl from Iowa.

I think he should've gotten it out of the way in A ball. Maybe Lake Elsinore. Or Rome. You can't go figuring that stuff out at the ML level.
 
Seems like they'd have everything lined up correctly if they bring Folty back on regular rest Friday night and have Keuchel start Saturday's game (also giving everyone else an extra day between starts)...

Folty - big arm righty
Keuchel - soft tossing lefty
Soroka - mixture
Julio - soft tossing righty
Fried/Newk - harder throwing lefty
 
Fried just isnt clutch. He has 30 grade swagger. I dont think he has anymore options but he could really use some work on this at AAA.
 
Early in the season stats were showing that Fried was very good with runners on, etc. I haven't more recent stats but I would not say he is not clutch. I think Enscheff has told us all along that his fast ball is too straight and someone one needs to teach him a sinker and see if it moves well. Until then he's just another of our backend starters, not the #2 he seemed to be early in the season.

has nothing to do with being clutch. he was stranding an unsustainable amount of runners and it's not correcting.
 
So you are also saying Fried's not clutch and needs to work on his swagger Super?

I agree, corrections are occurring and now Fried needs to make corrections. And his sinker or at least pitch selection.
