What's Happened To Huddy?

I knew the Giants were sinking in the bay like the China Syndrome (look it up), but I did not expect to see this:

Tim Hudson is now 1-7 over his last 10 starts with a 4.76 ERA. Now 8-9 overall, he was once 7-2 (duh) and looking like a steal for the then-first place Giants. Now, maybe it looks like the right thing that the Braves did not give him the two-year deal he sought (and got from San Fran).

See, not all of Wren's decisions have been as dismal as the Uggla/BJ two-headed monster.

Tim's ERA is that high over that period due to two really bad games, but it is still under 3.00 on the year. Plus his record is 1-7 mostly because of lack of run support over the last while. In fact, Huddy's last 5 losses include 4 quality starts among them proving that.

To sum it up, Wren still looks bad here despite Rico's assertions to the contrary. It isn't all about how good Huddy is as a pitcher either, we also miss what he brought as a veteran on a young team.

Anytime an old player has a rough stretch people assume they are done. Huddy had a rough start last year then was lights out until his injury.

His ERA is still good and he's had a couple really bad starts in that stretch mixed with very good ones. He's fine, the Giants on the other hand, are not.
