You see many variations of our top prospects which is what makes it fun.....So what is your top 20? Mine is below. We'll call Dansby a grizzled veteran and not include him to make more of a debate.

I like your list, except I probably wouldn't have Jackson on there until he shows some life.

As far as likely contributing at the MLB level, Minter is up there for me. Way up there.

2. Swanson
3. Allard
4. Soroka
5. Acuna
6. Anderson
7. Newcomb
8. Fried

16. Wentz
17. Cruz
18. Weigel

I know a lot of people complained about the Anderson pick this past draft so I have a question...had the Braves chosen some of the others they were rumored to be interested in, i.e. Puk, Groome, Pint, Lewis, where would they rank on your list?

It's a testament to our system that I saw Wentz that low and Muller not listed and wanted to take issue, then I read through it and said, 'Well, can't really argue with that.'

Mine would be (without Dansby):

1. Albies

2. Allard

3. Newcomb (I think people are being influenced too much by BA)

4. Soroka

5. Acuna

6. Maitan

7. Fried

8. Toussaint

9. Anderson

10. Wentz

11. Peterson

12. Weigel

13. Sims

14. Riley

15. Muller

16. Demeritte

17. Jackson

18. Minter

19. Pache

20. Cruz

The guys with the chance to move up mine the quickest are Anderson, Wentz, Riley, Jackson, Pache, and the recent international signings.

1) Dansby Swanson
2) Ozzie Albies
3) Ronald Acuna
4) Kevin Maitan
5) Kolby Allard

I agree with most of these lists. While the exact order is different, the general tiers of prospects is pretty well a consensus.

The guy I see constantly ranked too low is Minter. He is almost guaranteed to be at least a LOOGY with the potential to be a high leverage LHer out of the BP. With the returns we've seen BP arms traded for, that type of player has to be more valuable than guys who profile as 4th OFers, and guys with bat speed and contact issues.

To me, Minter is Probably top 12, right around Wentz/Muller, and ahead of guys like Demerritte, Peterson, Riley, Cruz, and Ruiz.

Kyle Lewis posted a .915 OPS in Low-A over 135 PAs with a 16/22 BB/K ratio...all while playing CF.

For reference, in 2015, Swanson posted an .876 OPS in the exact same league over 100 PAs, and that lead to him having pre-2016 rankings of 8, 17, or 27 in all of baseball depending on which list you preferred.

If Lewis were in the Braves system the only guys that would rank ahead of him would be Albies and Swanson, and that's only because he blew out his knee.

Swanson also was drafted higher (i.e. more hype), and plays SS well. Lewis projects more as a corner OFer by the accounts I've read.

I would be very surprised to see Lewis ranked in the top 25 so soon, at least as a consensus. He would most definitely be ranked in our top 3 or 4 however.

Swanson plays a premium defensive position well and will stay there. Better speed and hit tool. all his scouting reports remark on leadership. I do agree Lewis would probably be in our top 6. But I won't base that off 100 at bats. I mean Recker is the second coming of trout in 100 ABs. Lewis comes with his own hype. Much like Maitan we would rank him on that and not his play so much at this point.

Mine would be pretty similar to many others, a few exceptions, I wouldn't have Maitan so high, definitely not over guys like Soroka/Fried/Newcomb/Acuna........... Maitan would be closer to 10ish for me. I get the hype and near-universal praise from scouts, but he's still a 16/17 year old kid who hasn't played stateside. Soroka's had two really successful years, Acuna has played well (when healthy) stateside. Maitan could fly up these lists, but I'm not ready to start him so high.

Also think Minter should be higher on most lists, seems like if healthy he's got a very good chance at becoming a really good bullpen piece and his road to that spot is pretty clear. I'm a little higher on Cruz/Pache than most and lower on Demeritte.

I also think Severino should get some consideration.... if you're willing to jump all in and put Maitan in the top-5... Severino who many considered our 'next-best' international signing should also merit some consideration at the bottom of the top-20.

A switch-hitting middle infielder with potential power from both sides of the plate, signed for $1.9 million; was ranked #8 on BA's list of intl.prospects. In a year where we didn't sign Maitan; Severino would be getting talked about quite a bit more.

This is about where I am at as well. I'm hard pressed to see Jackson in our Top 20 and I'm not as high on Demeritte as a lot of folks. I know nsacpi has a man-crush on Yepez and I'll admit to being curious about how he will do. I wonder if he starts the season in Rome again. I think all of our three top picks from 2016 should be in the Top 20, with Anderson certainly in the Top 10 and Wentz on the cusp of that. Like Preacher, I am leery of placing any of the recent Latin American signees very high. I think Maitan is in the Top 10, but probably after guys who have played for a couple of seasons.

In general I would not put a new international signing like Maitan and Severino in a Top 20 list. For the obvious reasons. I make an exception for Maitan (a bit reluctantly) because of the many indications from industry insiders that he may be a special talent.
