Anticipating his entire rap sheet will be posted here at some point, he stole some kid's lunch money in 5th grade and had it coming.

✓ Pleading coherently not to shoot, fully explaining the entire situation.

✓ Full compliance with officers pointing guns at him.

Thinking of what more could have been done in this scenario for him to not get shot.

The video was edited so I say this with the caveat that I don't know for sure what happened yet:

If the officer accidentally pulled the trigger then probably nothing could have been done different. If that's the case then the officer will be fired and the man who was shot will gain a big pay day. The good news is that the chances of accidentally getting shot by an officer is about the same as the chances of you being killed in a train wreck.

But my guess is that this incident will be added to the lie being spread around that these are more than isolated events. Cops are evil and racist yet they are more likely to shoot a white man than a black man given the same circumstances. A policeman is 18 times more likely to be killed by a black man then an unarmed black man is to be killed by a cop.

I think if liberals were really concerned about Black lives and doing something about the gun problem don't you think their focus is in the wrong spot?

I think people in general have their focus on the wrong spot.

The place to look is the war on drugs... but you don't want to do that.

"Black on black" violence is a fun little slogan. But the reality is that when a violent crime occurs, it's most likely going to happen from the same race. I.E., when a white person gets assaulted, it most likely happened from another white person.

Except whites don't shot each other left and right and open fire discriminatly at parties and such.

The War on drugs is an excuse. theres plenty of pieces of **** in countries where drug possession is illegal and there are plenty of pieces of **** in countries where drug use is rampant and legal.

And it's possible to be concerned about inner city crime AND be disgusted about the quality of policing in America. You don't have to choose to be focused on one or the other. That's a tired and enabling argument.

It's not a fun little slogan. It's a sad truth. Blacks make up 40-50% of the violent crime in this country while only making up 12-13% of the population. Black lives matter takes away the focus from that terrible statistic and instead decides to focus on the comparatively miniscule percentage of murders due to police officers, of which there is no racial discrepancy when all factors are considered. The point being that police officers aren't a relatively serious threat to black lives in mostly black communities. The threat is other black people.

Until your willing to address the war on drugs, you're not that interested in finding a solution for either of these issues

I disagree. I'm not convinced the war on drugs is the main problem. But I am absolutely willing to address the war on drugs as part of the solution amongst other more direct factors.
