I should note that whininess among EEAs and leftists is as unbecoming as whininess among the manly men of the right.
I would also note that EEAs and leftists do not claim to be rugged individualists and avatars of personal responsibility. In that sense whininess and claims of victimhood are not hypocritical coming from them. Nonetheless I find it unbecoming and distasteful as well.
