I used to hate the keyboarder expression " tell me you don't understand, how science (in tis case) works with out saying I dont know how science works"

Very few pay that. The few that do are sometimes referred to as "full freighters." Usually, they are marginal students whose parents (or in some cases countries) are willing and able to pay the full freight, effectively subsidizing the remaining 90% plus who don't pay full freight. If GW is the best school that some rich kid can get into, mom and dad will pay the full freight. Seems like a Pareto optimal arrangement. Good for the rich kid and his family. Good for GW. And good for the other students being subsidized by the rich kid's family.

Trees don’t grow to sky
the estimated fiscal return on federal (and public) support for college education—measured in higher tax revenues and lower spending—is strongly positive, with every public dollar generating at least $7+ back to government coffers

i would have thought as fiscal conservatives y'all would be all in on that sort of return

my chart is about Student loan debt

The amount of debt a student takes on to obtain the wage premium is relevant, no?
i didn't say your graph is irrelevant

I do think all three pieces of information are relevant parts of the overall picture

i do think the returns to education data is a valid rejoinder to your point that trees don't grow to the sky

students loans (and spending on higher education generally) have one of the highest returns of investment of any activity by government at any level
