Why Academics Leftists and Elitists Need to Treat Ordinary Americans With Respect

Stalin didn't directly kill 20M people. And I honestly don't know. You hear the rhetoric from thethe?
Sure. He only executed like a million or so when he purged political opposition in the 30’s. Killed a few million more sending them to the gulags. And killed another 10m with forced famine.

I’m glad the federal government supposedly reaping all these benefits from all these students indenturing themselves to a lifetime of debt.

But it’s not really the point of the discussion
+ the part of the education premium the students keep for themselves

I think students loans should be looked at as a portfolio of stocks...there will always be some dogs you wish you hadn't bought...but the overall return is very strong

But the point of discussion is specifically about the dogs. I’ve given you your serve on the rest

i sentence thee to prompting 101:

i asked grok, gemini and claude to compare the net rate of return for student loans now versus 30 years ago:

grok: 8-15% now, 15-25% 30 years ago

gemini: 9-11% now, 14-16% 30 years ago

claude: 12-15% now, 15-18% 30 years ago

i know for most of you the big takeaway is the rate of return has fallen

for me the main takeaway is how extraordinarily high it has been and continues to be...a signal if ever there was one that MORE of it is needed

He's not a good guy and it's a stupid thing we're arguing. But I'm of the opinion that Trump would do horrible things if he could.

i found it somewhat amusing that the ever-woke Claude introduced this note of caution:

The one genuine counter-consideration worth acknowledging: some research finds that in practice, expanding higher education has often increased wage inequality rather than decreased it, because the gains aren't evenly distributed across race, gender, and institution type. Taylor & Francis Online So "expand access" is necessary but not sufficient — how you expand it (subsidizing community colleges vs. for-profit schools, for instance) matters enormously to whether the ROI argument actually holds for the marginal new student.

The whole point of this conversation was how retarded it was to suggest Trump is more authoritarian than Joseph Stalin — the one guy in the history of humankind who you could argue with a straight face is worse than Adolph Hitler.

It is a close call between Stalin and Hitler in terms of deaths caused. But Mao is the champion mass murderer of all time. Strangely enough he still graces China's currency.
