I'm sure this has been discussed before, but would love to hear your opinions to soothe my achy heart regarding our offensive woes this season.
So, what are the chances Chipper will ever agree to be our full-time batting coach? No chance in hell? It's only a matter of time? He's waiting to get into the HOF before potentially sullying his name with such a daunting job? He's just waiting for them to ask? He's already said no way in hell?
Every time I hear he's given some pointers to someone in a slump, that slumper turns it around, at least for a brief period. Even BJ seemed to come around for a week or two earlier this year after Chipper tweaked his stance. And of course there was the LaRoche incident, which honestly made me grumble a bit, though I get he was just helping a friend.
To me, it just seems so logical and inevitable that he will eventually take over the position. Just a question of when. He sure seems to love to do it when someone wants to pick his brain.
