Will Jace hit?

I think Jace will hit...eventually....but his hot ST set some fans up for dissappointment and too high expectations early on. The guy is going to be a contributor in the future and will be a key cog, albeit in a complimentary role, going forward. He's got a lot to learn, and is doing it at the highest level, hopefully his confidence doesn't get shattered and he works through it and works hard and becomes the player I think we all agree he can be.

Steamer projects Gosselin to hit slightly better than Jace. Of course this gave no weight to spring training.

In other words, neither of them are good.

Peterson is a stop gap. He's to hold over until Ruiz, Peraza, Albies, etc. are there. Though if Johnson and/or Callaspo keep hitting, the end of Peterson's time as a starter could be this year. Cause if he cannot hit enough, he won't be moved to 3B. Peterson does hit enough he could move to 3B or Peraza could move to CF. But Peterson's time as an MLB starter will be determined by him.

I like Peterson and think he'll hit.

I would drop him in the order. Sometimes it takes pressure off guys. Somebody has the numbers, but it seems like Simmons rakes out of the 8th hole and struggles when he hits top 2.

It's way too early. Jace could go 3-4 tonight and be hitting .270 with an OBP well over .300. EDIT: NOT TONIGHT!

That's how quick things can change. I think he's putting together some good at bats. Just hasn't really found any holes yet. I mean if just one ground ball sneaks through and one of his line drives finds a gap we'd be having a different conversation.

And it's insane for some of you to write him off as an every day 2b. He's playing really good defense and running the bases really well. Just right now he's not hitting into any luck at all. And he's not K'ing every AB either like Gattis is.

I like Jace - but am I missing this really good defense?

I haven't seen anything that's stood out to me other than a couple nice DP turns... He's gotten to a few tough grounders but was unable to convert into outs. Maybe I'm missing something.

Maybe I'm just used to Uggla/LaStella, but I think he's shown very good range.

He's not Simba but he's been pretty solid defensively so far.

Apparently, Jace has both a plus arm and plus range at second and good instincts around the bag.

So that explains him just dropping him for a couple games while he decides. What a buffoon. It wouldn't be so bad if it meant everyone would just move up, but he would replace him with Simmons.

He really is a complete moron.

In a stinkin hotel with no Braves TV, but suscribe to MLB radio. Sounds like Jace decided to answer the questions someone had about what people see in his defense.
